A French River household may receive help from relatives while considering an employment or investment move. List the people providing funds separately from those intending to accompany the principal, then assess each proposed activity and immigration relationship.
Identify relationships without treating funding as eligibility
An eligible spouse and unmarried children under 21 may qualify under the relevant dependent or derivative framework, with applicable immigrant child-age protection assessed on actual facts. A parent or another relative does not gain a derivative place by lending money. Record who intends to move, their citizenships and the relationship evidence rather than copying every name from the funding documents into the family application. Immigrant child-age protection does not extend the ordinary age limit for TD, E or L dependent status.
Check employment plans against each person’s actual status
TD does not authorize work. Qualifying spouses in appropriate valid E or L status may work incident to that status with required evidence, while dependent children do not receive the spouse authorization. A company’s willingness to hire a relative or a Canadian payer does not establish permission for U.S. services. Verify the individual’s real status record, including relevant spouse-designated I-94 evidence where applicable; the principal’s filing or approval alone is not everyone’s status.
Coordinate immigrant charges and travel using the actual inclusion list
Gold Card adds US$1 million and US$15,000 nonrefundable processing for each eligible included spouse or unmarried child under 21, also under corporate sponsorship. Initial inclusion is recommended, but payment does not universally freeze age or grant residence. Review relevant CSPA questions separately. For immigrant-visa travel, the principal must enter before or with derivatives. Keep the lending schedule, family budget and immigration dates distinct so a financial event is not mistaken for permission to move.
