Resolve discrepancies without changing authentic documents
Compare the case correspondence with genuine identity and relationship records. Record what differs and seek the appropriate clarification or authentic correction. Eligible dependent family generally concerns a spouse and unmarried children under 21, with applicable immigrant child-age protection assessed on the actual facts. Similar names do not make two people interchangeable in an application. Immigrant child-age protection does not extend the ordinary TD, E or L dependent child age limit.
Check work authorization independently
TD does not permit employment. Qualifying E and L spouses may work incident to valid appropriate status with required evidence, including relevant spouse-designated I-94 documentation; children do not receive that spouse permission. The principal’s filing or an employer’s family-benefit promise does not confer everyone’s status. Describe actual intended services, even if the payer is Canadian.
Keep the payment and travel records person-specific
Gold Card adds US$1 million and US$15,000 nonrefundable processing per eligible included spouse or unmarried child under 21, including corporate cases. Initial inclusion is recommended; payment does not universally freeze age or create residence. Assess CSPA and actual case instructions. For immigrant visas the principal must enter before or with derivatives. A correction request is not a reason to assume that dates, charges or entry requirements have automatically changed.
