What can show real authority beneath an annual budget?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Use accurate descriptions of decisions, responsibilities and reporting arrangements, supported by relevant records. A budget amount alone does not explain the role.

Connect financial limits with actual duties

Identify what the applicant may authorize and what must be escalated. Explain who carries out the underlying work and whether the proposed U.S. position follows the same arrangement. Avoid inventing approval powers merely to make the role sound senior.

For a trucking operation that means customer invoices across months rather than a single large contract, dispatch or load logs, driver payroll, equipment and maintenance records, insurance, and financial statements with tax filings behind them. The group knows perfectly well that it will own both, but a petition is decided on records: share registers, the purchase agreement and its closing documents, resolutions appointing directors, and financial statements showing each company regularly and systematically providing goods or services. The Canadian side can use recent contracts, financial statements or tax filings; the new U.S. entity instead needs evidence such as incorporation records, sufficient secured premises, capitalization, a bank account and a credible operating plan showing its ability to commence business.
