Read the general professional work overview
When an employer revises a professional offer, a Markstay-Warren applicant should identify the proposal actually being assessed. A collection of signed letters can create confusion if each describes a different assignment. Use the documentary history to explain the changes rather than hiding them.
Start with the operative duties
Ask the employer which version governs the intended employment and obtain a concrete duty description. TN requires Canadian or Mexican citizenship, prearranged temporary activity in a listed USMCA profession and its specific qualifications. An unchanged title does not establish that the revised work fits. If responsibilities genuinely move to another employee, record that allocation instead of simply deleting inconvenient duties from the letter.
Keep qualification evidence independent of offer revisions
Use the actual diploma, transcript and permitted alternative evidence for the selected profession. Experience does not universally replace a required degree, and degrees from institutions outside Canada, Mexico or the United States require evaluation by a reliable credentials evaluation service specializing in foreign education. Treat translations and licensing questions separately. Changing the offer cannot change what qualification the applicant earned, and a new letter should not imply a historical credential that does not exist.
Close the remaining employment questions
Confirm pay, duration, the recipient of services and ownership. Providing services to a US entity solely owned or controlled by the applicant is prohibited TN self-employment; a foreign business interest alone is not that rule. Canadians generally may request TN admission without a visa, while Mexicans generally need the visa route. Have the temporary activity and applicable process checked against the final facts. Carrying the amended file or accepting the offer does not itself authorize US work.
