Read the general immigrant investor briefing overview
An EB-5 project schedule and a Gold Card payment instruction describe different propositions. Compare what the payment legally represents, whose immigration case it supports and which conditions remain, rather than choosing solely from the first quoted figure.
Read the EB-5 allocation and rights
EB-5 involves qualifying at-risk capital and ten qualifying full-time jobs per investor under the applicable method, without double allocation. Assess lawful source and path and the management or policy rights, including qualifying limited-partner provisions where relevant. Current capital thresholds are US$1,050,000 or US$800,000 for a qualifying targeted employment area or infrastructure investment; scheduled adjustment begins January 1, 2027 and depends on petition filing date. Neither project marketing nor a reservation guarantees approval or repayment.
Read the Gold instruction as a separate process
The published Gold Card process starts with US$15,000 nonrefundable processing per person and, after successful vetting when instructed, a US$1 million individual gift or US$2 million per corporately sponsored employee. Each eligible included spouse or unmarried child under 21 adds US$1 million and US$15,000, including corporate cases. Corporate terms include 1% annual maintenance and a 5% transfer charge with a fresh background check, not automatic replacement approval. EB-1 or EB-2 eligibility, admissibility and visa availability remain. This gift is not an EB-5 interest with project jobs or investment returns.
Prepare a two-document comparison
For the private investment, identify the issuer, investment rights, job methodology and capital-risk terms. For Gold Card, identify the actual applicant, official notice, payment stage and any company obligations. Mark which statements come from a government instruction and which come from a seller or adviser. A receipt under either route should not be treated as residence approval, work permission or a guaranteed tax result. The EB-5 conditional period starts on immigrant admission or adjustment approval, not the project payment date. I-829 generally is filed in the 90 days before the second anniversary of conditional residence. Filing does not automatically remove conditions or require repayment of investment capital.
