Not automatically. Explain which special or advanced company knowledge carries into the actual migration and why the US work needs it.
Connect the two versions through a real task
Describe a compatibility issue or company procedure the employee has handled and the knowledge used to resolve it. Distinguish transferable company knowledge from a new skill the employee has not yet acquired. A product-version change neither automatically defeats nor establishes L-1B; the documented knowledge and proposed duties govern.
The workflow manual — the extraction rules, validation steps, scoring thresholds and quality gates as the company actually applies them — can make the knowledge concrete and show how it relates to the organization rather than general industry practice. The knowledge must be the company's, not the industry's: a skilled welder, a fluent programmer or a senior planner has general expertise unless the file shows that what they know is particular to how this group builds, sells or services something. L-1B requires one continuous year of qualifying employment abroad with a related entity within the preceding three years, specialized knowledge of the organisation’s product, service, research, equipment, techniques or management, and a U.S. position that uses it.
