Record responsibility without promising a transfer
Ask who in the company tracks the obligations and what happens if employment changes. A replacement requires a new background check and is not automatically approved. Keep company reimbursement arrangements separate from the official terms and do not describe the gift as recoverable investment capital.
On the published terms that means three processing fees of fifteen thousand United States dollars each, forty-five thousand in total and none of it refundable, followed after vetting by three gifts of one million each, three million in total. The official FAQ says small additional State Department fees may apply and identifies the required medical examination, so follow the current official payment instructions rather than assuming a separate ordinary petition-fee schedule. Each joining spouse and each unmarried child under twenty-one must be considered in the initial application and carries an additional nonrefundable processing fee and a further gift amount, so deciding late who travels is not a neutral adjustment. Decide in advance which budget absorbs a change of plan, because the two behave differently under pressure: the school’s terms may permit a deferral that preserves the deposit, while a nonrefundable processing payment stays spent whatever the family decides next.
