Neither document wins merely because its title is more favourable. The actual professional duties and the listed profession’s requirements must fit.
Ask who can confirm the assignment
Have the employer identify a representative working week and explain the installation component. Preserve the customer’s actual expectations. If the substantive role differs from the proposed profession, a revised heading cannot cure that issue; the underlying proposal needs assessment.
If the diploma is in hotel or restaurant management, the experience requirement is a documentation exercise: letters from each former employer stating the dates, the position and the responsibilities held, signed by someone with authority to confirm them. The Scientific Technician/Technologist entry does not require a baccalaureate; it requires theoretical knowledge of a listed discipline, the ability to apply it to practical problems and a role in direct support of a professional in that discipline. The harder question in industrial contracting is often not the credential but the duties themselves: turnaround work can blend engineering analysis with field supervision, procurement coordination, and hands-on troubleshooting that looks more like a technologist role. The supporting package must still establish Canadian or Mexican citizenship, a prearranged position within a listed USMCA profession, and the exact qualification required for that occupation; money cannot cure a category mismatch.
